/var/log/magicspam empty, no logging

Post by akamaka » Thu Apr 14, 2011 9:09 pm

Hi,

i just installed Magicspam Plesk module for Plesk 9.5.4 on CentOs 4 with Postfix. Filtering seems to work but i don't have logs and /var/log/magicspam is empty.

What is the problem?

Thanks

Actually... support for Plesk with Postfix on RHEL4 and CentOS4 was discontinued as of the last 2 releases. This is due to the mechanism that was required for integration not existing in the version of Postfix that ships with those distributions.

May we ask where you got the package from because it should not even exist?

You may be able to get it work if you can find a working upgraded backport for the postfix package of version 2.3 or greater for your platform - but we do of course advise caution as use of 3rd party packages may be detrimental to working within the Plesk framework.

Alternatively, we can supply you with an older version of the magicspam package that will work with your platform, but you should be aware that changes to Plesk mail server configurations will disable MagicSpam.
