SPAM is not stopped by Magicspam

Post by hteffer » Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:53 am

Hi,
Lately Magicspam is letting through more and more spam, that is filtered out by the spam filter on the client systems. Do you have an explanation for that? We are using MacOS 10.6 with MacMail and Windows 7 with Outlook on our systems and on the Windows systems we use the Trend Micro Anti-Spam solution.
Two examples of headers are:

Do you have an explanation why the mailfilters on the clients are blocking these messages and MagicSpam does not? Normally it would not be a problem, but we are also using Android and iPad tablets, that don't have the filtering capability of the fat clients. Can we let MagicSpam be triggered by certain keywords in the mail or by the frequency of some mails? It turns out that a lot of identical spam is sent out to different mail recipients at the same time.
For your information, we receive between 400 to 15.000 mails a day, of which MagicSpam filters out about between 90 and 98%. Some days we have over 500 mails that pass the MagicSpam protection.

Hello Hans,

In this case, both of the sending mail servers are listed on the PSBL repuation list. If you would like to block spam messages originating from these servers, we suggest you enable PSBL.

You can check to see if a particular host is currently on a block list by using a website such as: http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Please let us know if you have any other questions and thank you for supporting MagicSpam!
