False positive - important

There will always be opinions, both good and bad on how MagicSpam protection, rules and policies are used, and what the defaults should be. Different environments may have different needs. We try to find the perfect balance, and that is not always easy. Just remember that we have to satisfy millions of users.. not just one person.

Hello dmsims,

Thank you for your post.

From your email we understand that messages from sender sending from IP: 185.28.196.71 are being flagged as spam.

Based on the log entry, the message from this sender has been flagged as spam as their sending IP address is listed on block_list (41) or MIPSpace-poor.

You can confirm this on the following site:

http://www.linuxmagic.com/products/bms/

If you do not wish to disable this policy, simply whitelist the sender's IP or email address in the:

Anti-Spam / Exemptions

section in MagicSpam admin interface panel.

We hope this information helps.

As you can see, MagicSpam is committed to supporting MIPSPACE despite them knowingly and intentionally blacklisting non spammers. Can MagicSpam be trusted to provide a desirable product if they ignore repeat complaints from their customers about this unhinged blacklist?

Hello mxroute,

Thank you for your post.

MIPSPACE is just one out of many IP reputation lists available in MagicSpam. If you have MagicSpam installed in your server and you are experiencing a number of false positives on this list, you have the option of disabling MIPSPACE (or in the PRO and PLUS versions you can enable it in FLAG mode, which will pass messages detected on this list to the Spam folder). Alternatively, you can easily whitelist the sender by their email or IP address.

If you are the sender whose messages have been blocked due to the sending IP address being listed on MIPSPACE, please contact MIPSPACE team (https://mipspace.com/) to have your IP address delisted, or contact the sender via alternative means to have you whitelisted in their system.

We hope this information helps.
