Blocked Entries on the logs results from WHM that are on WL

Magic Spam,

I have Blocked Entries on the logs results from WHM that are on Whitelist.

When I click the "allow ip" option, I get a prompt "entry exists" if that is the
case why is it blocking it?

I am encountering this from the WHM side of the house, not from cpanel/account level.

Thank you and please advise.

Hello,

Thank you for your post and for your question. First, could you please run the following command to see if your that IP address is really in there already:

grep <ip address>  /etc/magicspam/ip_whitelist.lst
Also, please copy/paste the log entry for the blocked message into a response (feel free to change the email addresses if you like)?

thanks for the response.

I'm working with the request.

I just encountered something interesting, while looking at the log, from
WHM, HTML version, the IP address that is displayed, isn't complete.

Is this something you are aware of?

I ran the following command:

grep 54.240.15.24 /etc/magicspam/ip_whitelist.lst

and got this result:

54.240.15.243

All the characters, up to the #3 in the last octect were RED, last character was WHITE.

if I got this result, is the IP correctly in the whitelist?

I reviewed the saved CSV file, the IP correctly saved there.

I will re-approach after I get new entries.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. It sounds like the styling in the log search is cutting off the last part of the IP address - this shouldn't be causing any real issues though.

We are still a little bit unclear on one point, is the *real* sending IP address 54.240.15.243 or 54.240.15.24?

Perhaps also contact us via email at support@magicspam.com and send us the actual log lines for the message so that we can investigate further.
