New to MagicSpam, Need help understanding...

Post by ntarantino » Sat Feb 02, 2013 10:24 am

Hello, I have one client in particular that seems to be getting more SPAM than they want. I went and purchased MagicSpam a few weeks ago and would love to learn how to help stop them or at least learn what I can do (when they send Headers). I have everything set as default. I asked the client to send me some headers of the mails they are getting. When I see these, are there things I can look for in the following headers:

http://pastebin.com/UFTzz1Uw
http://pastebin.com/fQvfeYb0
http://pastebin.com/KGPCHTeX

Looking to learn from those experienced! Thanks!!!

Hello,

Thank you for your post and for including links to the email headers.

We noticed that one of the sending server's IP address happened to be listed on the MIPSpace blocklist. Enabling this blocklist will definately cut down on your customers' unwanted messages!

Upon inspection these headers appear to be following SMTP Best Practices rules and this means that unfortunately there are no rules that you can enable to block such messages.

Please remember that MagicSpam is a SMTP level system that operates based on the characteristics of the sending server that determine if said server is displaying signs of non compliance or other behavior that would indicate a spam source (including a listing on a blocklist).

We can see that your are using SpamAssassin behind MagicSpam which is an effective way to handle messages which get past MagicSpam.

Thanks!
